24th April 2019

By Clive Gray

After a fairly bouncy berth alongside in Douglas, we slipped the sea wall at 07.00am.

We headed South of the Isle of Man to head north with a favourable wind and tide to be just beyond Stranraer before the strong ‘spring’ tide changed against us at midnight. A really good days sailing.

The early hours of 24th found us battling a head wind and strong tide with 3m swells. We effectively stemmed the tide for 9 hours before starting to make way again as the wind came back around from the East again and allowed us to sail close hauled towards Ayr.
