Puddle Duck

This fantastic Back Water Sloop was kindly donated to the project in the early days of the project and has been lovingly restored. It has been a fantastic project for the apprentices and will make a fine craft boat for a enthusiastic new owner.

Sandpiper

Sandpiper is a 14ft clinker built transom stern sailing boat built between 1948 and 1953. It is constructed from Larch on Oak frames with Sitka Spruce spars, joined using copper nails. The rig is standing lug sail with a steel centre board. It is a pretty special boat to area as we believe it is a Royal Northumberland Yacht Club one design boat. The team and apprentices restored her over a year and is currently on show at the Woodhorn Archive. and we aim to have it shown at Woodhorn Archive.

Little Willy

'Little Willy' was built by our level 2 apprentices from keel upwards with each plank representing a final set piece for the level 2 qualification. She is a 7ft clinker built tender with a Lug rig and was built from measurements taken from a restoration project. She is built with larch planking and ribs and remains the pride and joy of our trainee cohorts.
